Kahlen Should Have Won

I go to work at noon, so right now I'm just kind of killing time by watching my favorite season of America's Next Top Model. I can't remember what cycle it is, I just know in the end it comes down to Naima and Kahlen...and Kahlen so should have won!

My absolute favorite picture in Top Model history is Kahlen's wrath shot. It was an incredibly fierce shot, and given the circumstances under which she shot, I just think it's amazing what she accomplished. What did Naima have going for her? She walked better than Kahlen at the final runway challenge. Whatever. Naima was in the bottom two at least once, and to date Kahlen is still the only contestant who never landed in the bottom two throughout the entire competition. Just sayin'.

Watching the photo shoot part of this episode (the one where Rebecca faints and they pose with the dogs for 1-800-Flowers) it just kind of reinforces for me that I really want to get into fashion for a career. The whole paralegal thing was a snore, and honestly I think I may have just taken those classes because I was having a bit of a personal crisis at the time and needed a distraction. Actually I pretty much know that's why I did it. I've come to realize though that spending thousands of dollars on classes that were essentially useless was a pretty bad idea, but I'm trying to correct that. I've put in my application with GRCC and now I just need Black River to fax my transcripts.

I've decided at GRCC I really want to try and major in Fashion Merchandising. I'm not interested in designing at all, but I'd love to be a buyer for a boutique or major department store. I think too that Fashion Merchandising would also include some styling of sorts, and I think that's what I'd like to do some day as well. But really, Fashion Merchandising is perfect for me because I'm a born shopper and we all know it. I can pick out the most expensive hand bag at TJ Maxx and not even have to look at the tags.

It's a gift, I know :)
